If you are a Christian and you are a teacher (or willing to be trained to be a teacher) and are willing to serve the Lord as a missionary teacher in Africa, e-mail us and we'll answer your questions and send you a preliminary application.
In addition to our on-going need for teachers to teach everything from Physics to English, our goal is to choose and send 18 missionary teachers to Tanzania each September to teach an Intensive English Course for 4 months in order to prepare new students to enter high school.
Help With School Supplies and Library Books.
If you would like to help organize people to donate school supplies, library books or used laptop computers, e-mail us and we'll answer your questions and share with you the kinds of school supplies that we need, what kind of books we are hoping to get donated, particulars of the types of used laptop computers we need, and how you can go about doing this.
If you would like to contribute financially, you can either go to our donate page to give on-line, or you can send a check made out to Village Schools International at VSI Box 1929 Tomball, TX 77377 with a notation of how you would like us to use your donation. If you would like to help a teacher go to Africa, indicate that. If you have an interest in helping build a school, let us know. If you want your money to go for scholarship funds, indicate that as well. Our biggest need right now is for funds to help with the building program.
If you would like more information and regular updates so that you can actively pray for the ministry of Village Schools International please e-mail us and let us know if you would prefer receiving updates by e-mail or by mail (or both!). We'll be happy to put you on the list of people receiving our updates.
Become a Fundraiser.
Pick a project and then volunteer to organize a fund-raiser at your school or church. Sometimes people simply ask for a few moments in a Sunday School class to share from their heart about the need for kids in Africa to get the chance to go to school. Occasionally people use their creativity to organize a large fund-raising event (car wash, bake sale, silent auction) to involve a lot of people in raising funds. In all instances they chose something specific, whether it is to raise funds to bring electricity to a school, to make desks, or to buy cement and metal roofing, so that people who donate can see tangible results from their generosity.
Share Your Ideas.
If you are a teacher and have teaching aids or other creative ideas that you are willing to share with us, please let us know. E-mail us and we'll discuss with you how we can put your expertise, your creativity and the resources you have to work helping teachers in Africa do a better job in the classroom. If you have resource materials or teaching aids that you would like to donate, we would be thankful. Everything from powerpoint presentations to collections of digital pictures and creative math puzzles can be used.
Volunteer in America.
Our goal is to continue sending to Africa 100% of every donation people make without taking any percentage of that donation for “administration”. We never want to hire a professional fund-raiser or recruiter. Instead we rely upon the excellent professional services of people who truly believe God would have them volunteer their time to help out with fund-raising, recruiting and providing administrative and logistical help. Contact us if you’d like to volunteer!
