Village Schools International is a Ministry Program of Equip International.  Here are three reasons why:

Because Equip asks - and answers - very important questions.

What do you do as a missionary in a small village when a desperate mother brings her very sick child to you, you're not a nurse, but the nearest hospital is hours away by car and a day's walk for her on foot?  Since Equip began asking questions like that, Equip has trained more than 1400 missionaries who have served all over the world using what they learned either in the Missionary Medical Intensive course or at Equip's Appropriate Technology Institute to respond lovingly and practically.  The kind of training that Equip provides is exactly the kind of training that enables short-term missionary teachers with Village Schools International to effectively serve in small villages in Africa.

Because Equip is committed to working together with all evangelical Christians.

As members of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), Equip is committed to working with other mission agencies in order to ensure that the gospel goes to all peoples of the world.  Our Statement of Faith unites us with other believers and keeps us focused on what is essential when we share the gospel with people who have never heard before.  Our Commitment to Financial Integrity is solidly based upon our belief that all of the resources put at our disposal belong to God and that we must therefore be wise stewards of that which donors have entrusted to us.  As a Ministry Program of Equip, Village Schools International shares that Statement of Faith and that Commitment to Financial Integrity.

A strong commitment to serving the poor and to making a practical difference in the lives of people unites Equip with Village Schools International.  As a Ministry Program of Equip, Village Schools International is committed to ministering to the whole person.  We share the gospel.  We start schools.  We meet people's medical needs.  We work for community development.  Our commitment is to love people and to love them so much that we find it impossible to turn a blind eye to their needs.  The manner in which we serve is as important as our service itself, but we believe that it is the motivation for our service which is of paramount importance.
